I'm now a resident of California

Hello Everyone.

Yesterday Peter and I drove up to Portola (4 hours north) to get the rest of our things and Peter's car. It was a beautiful drive as always. When we got there tea and lunch was ready...my family is the best. After some confusion my uncle John set me straight and told us how to get to Quincy, a very cute little town in the Canyon. We went there to the DMV to register our cars and get new CA licenses. My gosh am I glad we went there. The people were so friendly and small town-ish asking about each other's neighbors and family. It didn't take long at all, the day before we had went to the Oakland DMV...what a zoo. I'm now officially a California resident, can you believe it? We took the canyon the rest of the way home down the mountain and into the countryside. it was breath taking. We were driving at dusk, Ironically I was listening to a song called Emily by Joanna Newsom she sings about Meteors in the song. I saw a flash and looked up and crashing into the mountain was the biggest Meteor I had ever seen!! it was HUGE streaming purple and blue flames with bright red ones in the front it was so close I could see flames leaping off it and it physically hit the trees on top of the hills. Amazing.

I could never have predicted my life would be this way right now. I decided I wasn't happy and made some bold decisions. Including telling certain people how I felt about them (you know who you are). Things are really changing in a positive way. I can't wait to see what happens next...

PS. Two things I love out here (amongst many others)
-Pitchers of Soju margaritas with friends without the cups and only straws
-warm Mocha Mates and a scarf

Someone told me that the folks out there have love in their eyes and flowers in their hair

Sorry if I've cut our conversations short, i've been going non stop since Nov 3rd. I can't believe 2 weeks have nearly gone by!! It has been such an adventure. I've mostly been stressed but now the excitement has set in. We have already made friends and meet up with old ones. We've gone to shows, rode planes, trains, trollies, boats, jumped in hot tubs, drank wine, drank more wine on the roof in Oakland while eating tacos, we've watched the sun set on the ocean and the mountains. We can see both the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge from our apartment. Here are some more photos from the trip I PROMISE I'll put up apartment photos tomorrow.

I HAVE ARRIVED

It's been about 6 months since the last posting. Ever since Peter and I left we have been working feverishly to get back here to live. People keep asking us why we left, why we are here. No reason really. To travel and live, life is passing by too quickly and I haven't seen enough. I haven't experienced enough. I really wanted to try to be in a big city in my life. I loved Minneapolis so I thought I could thrive here with other artists. ALOT of artists here. I'm so excited. Plus it's totally different here in so many ways. The people are so diverse that I feel like a minority. haha. People are super kind in a very cool way. We have come across a few jerks but I figure they are everywhere. Next is Europe for a while. hah that'll be awhile.

I'm so lucky. I was able to go on a road trip across the country with two of my best friends. I saw mountains up close for the first time. I took a path that many many people have taken for along time. I can't imagine taking that trip in a wagon. a real wagon not my station wagon. I stayed with my Aunt Susan in the mountains of California she is soo lucky its' the most beautiful place on earth. They were so kind and so helpful to Peter and I. I feel like the possibilities are endless. I'll post more later. We have an apartment now in Berkeley we move in on Friday. I'll post photos.
